The Doors were formed in 1965 by Morrison (vocalist), Ray Manzarek (keyboardist), John Densmore (drummer), and Robby Krieger (guitarist). Vocalist Jim Morrison contributed his mysterious and enigmatic lyrics along with unpredictable stage behavior. He passed away in July of 1971 leaving Manzarek, Densmore, and Krieger to continue as a threesome until 1973. Although they were only together for hardly eight years, they have sold over 32 million albums in the United States. (MD-0; )
