Frank Zappa t shirt Chunga's Revenge dedicated to an album, released on October 23, 1970. Zappa's first attempt of the 1970s script the first outward show of former Turtles members Flo & Eddie on a Zappa record, and signals the dawn of a notorious period in Zappa's history. Chunga's Revenge represents a move from both the ironic political explanation of his 1960s work with The Mothers of Invention, and the jazz fusion of Hot Rats. The material offered on Chunga's Revenge is eclectic; there are two guitar jams, a bluesy amble, a jazz interlude, an Avant-Garde live improvisation, and several poppy numbers. The vocal tracks all deal with the theme of sex and groupie encounters, and, as Zappa comments on the sleeve of both the vinyl and CD, are a preview of the 200 Motels album. (G-7)
